About

In Recent times Country First Response has found its self developing a network partnership with other organisations under arrangements with Emergency Medical Services Australia Pty Ltd (EMSA). This has allowed us to provide a greater coverage of service throughout Australia. It also means that we can now tap into resources that previously would have to be hired independently.

Country First Response is in no way providing a competitive or replacement service of the various statute Ambulance Services. We provide a first-line intervention service of a high level. The aim is to ensure that when the state ambulance service arrives any injured or sick patient has had quality life-saving management interventions commenced which will compliment the definitive care provided by the ambulance service. Our approved clinical guidelines and actions are based upon that utilised by the Ambulance Service of NSW, which means the flow of care will be continuous, follows industry best practise and is free of misinterpretation. Our aim is to initiate high level patient care at the scene in order to increase the “golden hour” between injury and hospital.

Under State and Territory legislation it is a requirement that to possess and administer any medications an organisation or individual must be licensed under the state/territory poisons, drugs and/or therapeutic goods legislation. Country First Response, through its association with EMSA provides paramedics who are authorised, trained and skilled under license, to carry and administer emergency medications, in NSW, QLD, SA and WA. In QLD, SA and WA Country First Response is also licensed to carry and administer (under medical authority) other specific medications able to manage illness and injury on site for remote locations. Having this capability allows the site paramedic to manage patients at the work site, minimising the need to transport patients off-site creating unnecessary Lost Time Injury for minor injuries/illnesses.

All transport which may be required is organised and performed by the Ambulance Services' of the respective states. We can arrange to have an ambulance on-site at your event or site but all transport to care outside of the event or site will be provided by the state ambulance provider. It is an offence, for example, under the Health Services Act  (NSW)1997 Sect 67E, to provide transport of sick or injured persons for fee or reward without specific exemption authority from the Director General of Health NSW.
